The deep-fryer is composed of a container (1), in the upper region of which the frying trough (2) is arranged. In the lower region of the container, heating elements (41, 42) are detachably installed. The said elements are essentially formed as walls (41, 42) or are arranged lying one over the other in the immediate vicinity of the container wall or also coaxially to the axis of the container. The heating elements (41, 42) are advantageously wetted on all sides with oil. The oil column in the interior (8) of the container is such that its cross-section in the lower region of the container is smaller than in the region of the frying trough. This structure causes the oil to circulate faster, reduces the oil content and considerably reduces the time required to heat the oil. <IMAGE>
