Turned wooden building block - has two planar faces which define edge opposite third convex face

The construction element has two planar lateral faces (37,38) defining an edge (I-I) opposite to a third convex lateral face (36). The end faces (2,3) are perpendicular to the edge whilst two lateral chamfers (30,31) are substantially parallel to the edge. The elements are made by turning a block of wood to form a truncated cone which is cut along the longitudinal axis into segments of the required size. The elements are secured together with their edges parallel and their convex faces (36) alternating from one side to the other to form the desired construction.
