The colour image analyser uses a circuit which is integrated onto a single semiconductor substrate and comprises two strips of N photosensitive elements spaced apart by a distance equal to one or more times the corresponding element dimension. At least N elements are sensitive to green, the remainder to blue and red, and distributed to receive all of the radiation of each image line to be analysed. The element charges are transferred simultaneously to a read device of two parallel input series output shift registers. Two charge read stages are connected to each register output. A memory has N shift registers of series input/output which are located between the strip receiving the first image line and one read device register. The resulting charges are stored in the memory and then transferred to the next register while the other strip charges are transferred to the other read device register.
