The self contained washing equipment is for use with a refuse wagon. It is mounted on the vehicle chassis and has a pump (4), a tank (1) of pump feed liquid and a flexible pipe (7) to receive liquid under pressure, ending in a washing jet (10). The pump is driven by an engine power take off driving an hydraulic motor (5). The feed is oil and can be stopped by an electrically controlled valve. The flexible pipe is on a drum (8), which is incorporated in the unit. The tank has a surge arrestor and contents gauge.
