<p>The cutting tool e.g. pocket knife has a blade (2) which retracts into the handle (1) and retracts automatically upon impact. A two-part (9,10) curser positions the blade, one part (9) being a blade-holder, and the other part (10) cooperating with the handle. The curser parts are securely connected during normal use, separating under the effects of shock to permit the rapid retraction of the blade. The second part may have an inverted assymetic 'U' section, its longer leg (10e) including a nib (11) which engages indentations (7) on the inside wall of the handle. Its release is effected by pressing on a button (6) located by a slot-hole. The holder may house into the second part, its temporary connection effected by means of a downstand flange (12a) with a nib (13) engaging a notch (18).</p> |
