A process for the treatment of a nonwoven with water nozzle jets is disclosed. A water-impermeable part is used as the supporting part for the nonwoven during the water-jet treatment. The nonwoven is treated on a plurality of water-impermeable rollers arranged in a multi-stage and parallel manner, in order to achieve an effective drainage and effective felting of the fibres after these have been treated on a water-impermeable band, in order to provide necessary strength for further transport to the said rollers. The fibre nonwoven produced by this process has essentially no orifices, and the fibres are tangled and securely felted in a three-dimensional direction. |
