The present invention relates to the field of amalgaming products. The method for pretreating the surface of components prior to amalgaming, when components made of ferrite are used, consists in degreasing the surface of the components, etching, thermal treatment, activation, chemical and electrochemical copper-plating, nickel-plating, the prior application of a layer consisting of metal which ensures adhesion of the next layer to the surface of the components, and the galvanic deposition of a layer consisting of metal which is soluble in mercury. The proposed invention is used in the manufacture of contact components of liquid-metal commutators.
