PURPOSE:To obtain a method and apparatus for manufacturing a gas burner, having good workability, by inserting a rack-like lower mold into a tubular combustion pipe, engaging a pinion-like cutting part having cutting blades with the lower mold, and drilling a flame hole. CONSTITUTION:A lower mold is inserted into a combustion pipe 11, its teeth mold 19 is contacted with the inside of a flame hole-forming part, and a cutting part 21 is lowered and contacted with a peiphery slightly before the flame hole- forming part of the combustion pipe 11. Then, the cutting part 21 is turned while being pressed downwards, and each of cutting blades 22 is engaged with the teeth mold 19 of the lower mold 18 in such a way as to put the wall of the combustion pipe 11 between them. The tip edge 23 of the blade 22 engaging with the first thread bottom of the lower mold 8 serves to open in shearing manner the wall of the combustion pipe 11 and then to downwardly fold the wall by the slopes 24a and 24b of the blade 22 so as to form a rib 15. Since the flame hole 14 is separated from the rib 15 in this way, stable combustion flame can be obtained. |
