No mortar joints are visible in masonry built with blocks of virtually prismatic shape. At least in its two flat sides facing an adjacent row of building blocks (10) in the wall, the block has a deepened recess (12,14). It has an opening for casting (22) passing through it in the area of the recess, or one of the recesses, from one flat side to the other. There may be a recess in one or both flat sides. The block can be made of a cold-hard-setting concrete mixture, if appropriate with aggregates, esp. colour pigments. Such blocks can be built up into a wall without skilled labour, and have high load bearing capacity.
|
