CLARIFIER FOR FILTHY WATER

PURPOSE:To perform clarificartion of filthy water with saved energy consumption without discharging a large amount of excess sludge, by letting organic filthy water naturally fall down through filter cloth so that the filthy water is filtered and that organic substances in the filthy water are hydrolyzed and gasified by proliferating action of anaerobic bacteria. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of filter bodies 8, which stretch filter cloth sheets 19 on their outside surfaces, are located in fixed intervals inside a filtration tank 1, and the central lower part of each filter body 8 is connected to a filtrate- collecting pipe 9. Crude water is fed through a pipe 7 into a crude water-receiving vessel 4, and then through a feed space 2 into a siltering vessel 5. After a certain amount of crude water flows into the vessels, the pipe 7 is sunk under the water and dissolution of O2 caused by diffusion in the air is inhibited, to keep the interior of the vessel 1 under an anaerobic atmopshere. Filthy water in the vessel 4, being prevented from contact with the air, gradually increases the anaerobic atmosphere and fills in the vessel 5. Thereafter, a filtrate flow rate- control valve 10 is gradually opened, so that the filthy water in the vessel 5 is filtered by the filter cloth 19 and drained through the pipe 9. On the surface of the filter cloth 9 is formed a large amount of anaerobic bacteria film to clraify the filthy water.
