PURPOSE:To stabilize the shape of a protuberance of a magnetic fluid and prevent a magnetic powder from precipitating after printing is stopped for a long period of time, by providing a magnetic fluid supplying means at a position such that the head from the tip of a multiple stylus to the liquid level of the magnetic fluid is set at a predetermined value suitable for supplying an appropriate amount of the magnetic fluid. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 2 for causing the magnetic fluid to form the protuberance is provided in the proximity of the tip of the multiple stylus 1 facing a recording surface 9, a fluid flow guide member 3 consisting of a magnet is additionally provided at a lower part of the magnet 2, and the means 7 for supplying the magnetic fluid to a part of the guide member 3 is provided. The supplying means 7 is provided between point A and point B which are in the range of head H0 ensuring that a suitable protuberance is formed. The amount of the magnetic fluid is so set that the amount of the fluid moved upwards by a magnetic force is balanced with the amount of the fluid tending to fall by gravity, resulting in that the fluid is adhered onto the stylus 1 as if the liquid level is disposed at the point of head H0. Accordingly, the shape of the protuberance is not changed even when the device as a whole is tilted. In addition, since little fluid is adhered onto the stylus 1 when the recorder is not operated, precipitation of the magnetic powder does not occur. |
