PURPOSE:To enable the pressure to the ink to be supplied to an ink jet head to reach a desired pressure in a short period of time at the starting of ink jet, by providing an accumulator with a special structure in an ink supply passage to the ink jet head. CONSTITUTION:In a charge deflecting type recorder wherein ink is supplied to an ink jet head by employing fixed flow rate type pump, an accumulator 7 with a structure mentioned below is provided in an ink supply passage to the head: a spring 2 and a diaphragm 3 secured to one end thereof are received in a chamber 1, and a spring length regulator 4 pressing the other end of the spring 2 is provided at one side of the chamber 1, while an ink passage 6 is provided at the other side. The spring length regulator 4 is adjusted so that when the supply pressure to ink 6 is zero, the diaphragm 3 contacts with a bottom part 1' and if the ink supply pressure in stationary printing is, e.g., 4kg/cm<2>, the diaphragm 3 separates from the bottom part 1' when the pressure becomes about 3.8kg/cm<2>, allowing the ink 6 to gather therein. |
