A loading device (9) for powder actuated tools includes a support section (10) attachable to the body (1) of a powder actuated tool. A charge loading passage (19) is formed in part of the support section (10), and a transfer arm (11) is pivotally mounted on the support section (10) at an inner end portion of the transfer arm, for pivotal movement between a rest position and a loading position. A charge carrying bore (27) is formed through an outer end portion of the transfer arm (11), and a torsion spring (23) urges the transfer arm (11) towards its rest position. Cooperable abutment surfaces (29, 30) on the support section (10) and the transfer arm (11) respectively are engageable to locate the transfer arm (11) in its rest position in which the charge loading passage (19) and the charge carrying bore (27) are aligned. The transfer arm abutment surface (30) is located on the outer end portion the transfer arm (11). An extractor member (50) is incorporated for removing a spent cartridge (15). <IMAGE> |
