PURPOSE:To achieve a high speed measurement of glossiness a surface to be measured by a curved face by calculating a contrast glossiness level based on th output of a camera tube during a scanning at the high-test point and the output thereof during a circular scanning. CONSTITUTION:A light source 2 comprising a lamp 2a and a condenser 2b irradiates a light beam inclined by a fixed angle to the vertical surface on a surface 1 to be measured. A camera tube 4 is controlled with a deflection control circuit 8 so that the brightness point 5 comes at the center of a partial scanning area A and a horizontal and a vertical scanning is partially made near the receiving position of a normal reflected light. A circular scanning 6 is made on the center 5 of the scanning area A. An amplified video signal Vp is outputted from a video amplifier 10 and a ratio is calculated between the mean of the amplified video signals during the circular scanning and the value of the amplified video signal during the scanning at the brightness point with an arithmetic circuit 9 whereby a contrast glossiness level is determined. This enables the response to quick changes in the reflected light assuring a high speed measurement. |
