<p>Rotary cutting tools, such as reamers and drill bits, of a novel design are described for use in a novel tool driver and holder. The novel cutting tool comprises a symmetrical reversible fluted cutting tool of generally cylindrical outer configuration having at least two curvilinear flutes formed in the outer face thereof symmetrically disposed about and extending the length of the tool body, defining peripheral lands between said flutes, each juncture of a flute and an associated land forming a peripheral guide edge and chip relief gullet, retaining indentations formed in the lands at the mid point of the tool body, and cutting edges formed in both end regions of the tool.</p> |
