<p>The novel title cpds. are of formula (I): (where R is 2-pyrazinyl, 3-pyridyl or 5-pyrimidyl, R1 is phenyl, pyridyl, 1-12 C alkyl or 3-8 C cycloalkyl, and R2 is trifluoromethoxyphenyl, tetrafluoroethoxyphenyl, pentafluoroethoxyphenyl, 3,4-(difluoromethylenedioxy)phenyl or 2,2,4,4-tetrafluoro-1,3-benzodioxamyl), including their non-phytotoxic acid addn. salt. They are prepd. by reacting novel ketones of formula R1COR2 with R-Hal, in the presence of an alkyl alkali at -70 degrees C, and they are esp. suitable for use as plant growth regulators at the rate of 0.14-5.6 kg/ha.</p> |
