The spoon is used for spreading peserves or pickles on e.g. a slice of bread after spooning it out of the jar. It comprises a shallow bowl section attached to a tubular handle section, which is used both for scooping out the preserve and for spreading it on e.g. a slice of bread. The bowl section is connected to a spig which moves axially within the tubular handle and is attached to a manipulating ring at the upper end.
