The document file comprises a cover flap (2), a bottom, and a closing flap (3). Near the free edge (2a) of the cover flap a portion is cut out (2b) to form a tonge (2c). When bent by hand pressure this forms a friction grip engaging with the closing flap, via a slot (3a) in the latter. The cut-out portion can be crescent-shaped, forming a roughly semicircular tongue, with slight protrusions on each side of its base acting as brakes, once iseted in the slot.
