<p>Machinery for producing blow mouldings from a single parison extruder has the extruder mounted coaxially with a triangular frame which also supports three sets of mould tools to be services in turn by the extruder. The mould units may reciprocate radially, in response to suitable lever or ram traverse mechanism; or ternatively a parison transfer device may shift between extruder and mould axes. In the latter case, top or bottom inflation nozzle systems may be used. Each mould unit may be double headed, so the extruder services 6 cavities. The extruder die may branch to three separate outlets of similar or differing capacities. Appts. is more efficient than a machine with a single or twin tool moulding station, and more compact than a multi-tool turntable design.</p> |
