PURPOSE:To obtain a converter which is capable of the effective use of an ROM, by combining the converters that divide the input value by 2<j> (j: a >=5 natural number). CONSTITUTION:A converter using an ROM of 2<14> words which converts a binary coded decimal number of 10 digits into a binary number of 32 bits consists of converters 45- 54. Then the value of each digit is applied successively at and after the most significant digit of the binary coded decimal number of 10 digits to input terminals 55-64. These supplied binary coded decimal numbers are divided by 2<7> through the converters 45-48, and the quotient is delivered to quotient information transfer lines 75-78. At the same time, the residual is delivered to residual information transfer lines 69-71. The residual 7 bits are delivered to an output 68 in the form of the result of conversion of binary number. At the same time, the quotient is divided by 2<7> through the following converters 49, 50 and 51 to obtain the result of conversion of the binary number of 7 bits through an output terminal 67. In the same way, the result of conversion of the binary number of 7 bits is obtained from an output terminal 65 through converters 52 and 53. Then the quotient of 4 digits is converted into a binary number of 11 bits through the converter 54 to be obtained through the terminal 65. |
