<p>The weld deposition installation includes devices for measuring (i) the angle of rotation of the workpiece from its starting point, (ii) the longitudinal position of the welding torch and (iii) the longitudinal position of the workpiece. The measured values are fed to a controller which compares the values with preset values and supplies signals for controlling the longitudinal displacement of the welding torch. The installation is used for weld cladding of workpiece of revolution, such as sleeves for nuclear reactor vessels. Faultless deposits are produced irrespective of any out-of-roundness of the workpiece or any imprecise positioning of the rollers used to rotate the workpiece.</p> |
