PURPOSE:To improve the preservation performance of a thin battery, which is sealed by fusing the peripheries of sealing plates with soldering materials, by using a gold-tin alloy as the soldering material. CONSTITUTION:A generation element 1 consisting of a solid electrolyte 2, a negative electrode 3 and a positive electrode 4 is hermetically sealed with a ring- like ceramic 5 and sealing plates 6 and 7, thereby a thin battery being constituted. The ceramic 5 and the plates 6 and 7 are provided with metal plated layers 12-15. Soldering materials 8 and 9 are interposed between the layers 12 and 14 and between the layers 13 and 15, respectively, before the battery is hermetically sealed by fusion. As the soldering materials 8 and 9, a gold-tin alloy is used. The former gold-tin alloy consists of, for example, 80wt% of gold and 20wt% of tin, which is preferable since it has a low melting point of about 280 deg.C, or 10wt% of gold and 90wt% of tin. |
