In a window installed obliquely and having a casement (5) articulated at the top, the latter is additionally connected to the window frame (1) by means of a lifting arm (6), one end of which is mounted on a pivot (7) on the window frame (1), whilst the other end is displaceable in the casement (5) and loaded in the direction of the hinge pin (4) by a tension spring (10). This spring, at its end located nearest to the hinge pin, is connected to a further lifting arm (13) which is likewise mounted on a pivot (14) of the window frame and which together with the first lifting arm (6) forms a kind of scissor or toggle mechanism, the legs of which are loaded relative to one another by the tension spring (10) and both thereby exert a torque effective in the opening direction on the casement. The total torque effective in the opening direction can thereby be adjusted in such a way that it is relatively high with the window closed.
