PURPOSE:To prevent overheating of a printing head without carrying out complicated control of a printing position by controlling a time length of a waiting condition from a time when a definite amount of printing is finished to a time when next printing is started corresponding to the temp. of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:A temp. deciding circuit 8 decides the temp. of a printing head 4, that is, whether the temp. of the printing head 4 exceeds a prescribed temp. or not and, when the prescribed temp. is exceeded, a signal is issued from the deciding circuit 8. By the signal from the temp. deciding circuit 8, data of a time length showing a time longer than a usual time is set to a timer 6 and a timer in a waiting condition of a dot printer is lengthened to lower average operation duty of the printing head 4 and heat generation of the printing head 4 is suppressed. |
