<p>The invention provides a waste heat (for air from tumble dryers), recovery heat exchanger 10 having nozzles 16 and 17 to wash it intermittently with water to remove e.g. accumulated lint or dirt. Nozzle 16 is directed with the air flow 14 and covers the whole area of cross-section; nozzle 17 is directed downwards to traverse the air stream 14.
