<p>The clearing and supporting shield plate for salvage vehicles, esp. tank recovery vehicles has its body connected to a shield carrier held on the vehicle, via a pivotal hinge. The carrier swivels to transfer it from a travel position into either a clearing or a support position. The shield incorporates a lower piece connected to the fixed upper piece via a pivotal hinge, and swivelling relative to it. It may be fixed in the clearing position on the upper piece. This can be in the form of a plug bolt in a holder in the upper piece; or hydraulic cylinders between lower piece and hinge arms.</p> |
