The water-cooled multi-cylinder IC engine multi-part exhaust manifold comprises several sections, each connected to several cylinders, capable of being joined together. Each has an annular water space bounded by the gas-retaining inner- and an enveloping outer wall. Both inner (3,3') and outer (4,4') walls of the individual sections (1,2) are joined by plug-in type flexible connectors, arranged to leave a gap (10) between the section end faces (8,9). Pref. there are two separate, adjacent, plug-and-socket sleeve type, connectors (6,7) of which one (7) links the annular spaces (5,5'). Cylindrical recesses (11,11'; 12,12') in the section ends accommodate the sleeves, sealing radially but axially movable.
