<p>The circuit performs automatic dynamic compression or expansion of signals. The transmission path runs through an amplification unit (3). The incoming signal is also connected to a second amplifier (4) in the expansion circuit (10). The second amplifier is connected to a control signal generator (5). The signal (UST) produced by the control signal generator is fed to two circuits (6,7) connected in parallel, each with a constant attenuation factor (K1,K2). The two circuits are connected to corresponding characteristic curve generators (8,9).
