<p>PURPOSE:To use a display surface efficiently by providing a fixed storage device for word storage and another fixed storage device for phrase and sentence storage, and by simultaneously displaying an original word and its equivalent when the number of constituent characters of the original word is less than a prescribed number. CONSTITUTION:A fixed storage device ROM1 for word storage consists of a decoder part ROM1A which decodes a storage address corresponding to an address signal from a CPU, a word storage part ROM1E wherein coded words are stored corresponding to storage addresses, and an equivalent storage part ROM1J wherein coded equivalents are stored corresponding to words. Another fixed storage device ROM2 for phrase and sentence storage stores phrases and sentences codes with the same constitution with the ROM1. The CPU specifies addresses corresponding to codes from alphabet keys K1 and processing keys K2 for retrieval, etc., to retrieve the contents of the ROM1 and ROM2 correspondingly and when the result is obtained from the ROM1, the word and its equivalent are displayed on an output part OUT simultaneously.</p> |
