An automatic speed-control actuator for variable speed pumps. A rotary or linear actuator changes the pump speed to prevent unacceptably low pressures on the pump inlet or unacceptably high pressures on the pump outlet; pressure switches at these locations control the actuator to produce maximum flow rates through the pump.
