There are provided levamisole effervescent tablets which comprise a composition characterized by excellent solubility yielding crystal clear solutions in water, good storage stability, and ease of use. There are also provided methods for the oral administration of levamisole to swine in predetermined dosages vin the drinking water offered to said animals utilizing the aforesaid levamisole effervescent tablets.
