PURPOSE:To retrieve information easily, by dividing the information by a recording unit, and formatting an address of the recording unit in advance when an optical disk is prepared, so that this recording unit has a tree structure. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk is roughly divided into a large sort area 101, a middle sort area 102 and a small sort area 103, each area is also divided into a sector 206 consisting of a preformat part 204 and a data part 205, and in each preformat part, a pit sequence is formed in advance by a conventional optical disk tecnique such as a stamper, so that said sector forms a tree structure. According to such a constitution, an optical disk which is excellent in its retrieving capacity of information is manufactured in a large quantity in a short time. |
