PURPOSE:To make a motor compact, by a method wherein a brake shoe is disposed at end portion of a stator and energized by a spring, the brake shoe is de-energized by means of leakage flux at rotating state of the rotor, and necessity of separate power source for operating the brake is obviated. CONSTITUTION:Ring covers 14 and 15 to make leakage flux phi flow are attached to end portion of a stator core 2, and a brake shoe 10 is opposed to the ring cores 14, 15. The brake shoe 10 is slidable in the axial direction and a brake spring 11 is interposed between the brake shoe 10 and the inner ring core 14, thereby at stopping state the brake shoe 10 is energized in the direction of a brake plate 6 rotating together with a shaft 4. When the stator 2 is turned on and a rotor 5 is driven, the brake shoe is attracted to side of the ring cores 14, 15 by means of leakage flux phi of the stator thereby the brake is released. |
