High-pressure continuous filter having transport worm - to move cake into closed vessel opened to blow out cake by filter unit pressure

The arrangement is intended for removing filter cake after it has detached from the filter elements in a high-pressure continuous filter unit. The loosened cake is moved into the top of a closed vessel, preferably by a transport screw. When the cake collecting in this vessel reaches a given level, the vessel is opened at the bottom which allows the cake to be pressed or blown out by the pressure in the filter unit. Prior to opening, a powder or viscous oil may be injected into the vessel to act as sealant and thus limit the loss of pressure in the filter unit during opening. Used for removing filter cake from high-pressure continuous filter unit. The arrangement avoids the clogging of the transport worm and the wear to its blades which can occur when the worm with cake together form the pressure seal of the filter unit.
