PURPOSE:To prevent unsatisfactory printing of a bar-code and prevent misreading from occurring, by reading a bar-code by a bar-code reader upon printing of the bar-code, and comparing bar-code data designated to be printed with the data of the bar-code actually printed. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 3 is read by a bar-code reader 2, and the data of the bar-code thus read is compared with bar-code data previously stored in a memory. When the two kinds of data being compared coincide with each other, the printed bar-code is determined as normal, and the process started with a step of storing bar-code data into the memory is repeated, or is finished. When the two kinds of data being compared do not coincide with each other or when the bar-code can not be read by the bar-code reader 2, the printed bar-code 3 is determined as unsatisfactory, and an abnormal condition processing is performed. Namely, the abnormal condition is reported to the operator by an erroneous message generated by an abnormal condition processing means in a controlling means 5, or by a sound generated by an alarm or the like, then printing by a printer 1 is stopped, and operation is finished. |
