PURPOSE:To facilitate the releading-in operation from a data signal after momentary break to monitor the line fault, by using a data communication device to distinguish the normal end of data transmission and the momentary break from each other. CONSTITUTION:If a momentary break occurs by the fault of a line or the like during the receiving operation, a carrier detection indication signal CDi is turned off. At this time, a pattern detecting circuit 15 tries to detect a pattern signal from receiving data RD of the output of a receiving circuit; and if the pattern signal is detected, the normal end is indicated to a receiving control circuit 14, and the circuit 14 turns off a carrier detection signal CD'. A momentary break occurrence signal CF is held in the turn-off state. Meanwhile, if the circuit 15 does not detect the pattern signal, the occurrence of a momentary break is discriminated, and it is indicated to the circuit 14, and the signal CD' is turned off after a prescribed delay time from the time when the signal CDi is turned off. |
