PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the number of airtightness testing processes, by a method wherein a high-inductance coil and a DC current power source are connected in series to a sealed-incontact, and a discharge wave-form of a glow discharge generated between charging contacts in monitored. CONSTITUTION:Nitrogen gas and several percents of oxygen gas, several percents of helium gas, or nitrogen gas is charged into a contact sealed with a glass 1b. A coil 6, having a high inductance like that of a coil for wire spring relay is positioned in series to a contact terminal of an airtightness test circuit of a sealed-in contact 1, and a DC power source E(+48V) is connected in series to the coil 6. A discharge waveform, produced by the load circuit, is monitored, and an abnormality of a glow discharge wave-form following the difference in gas component and mixture ratio is observed, and this permits the sharp reduction of the number of airtightness testing processes. |
