Centralised automatic control system for model trains - uses MOS logic to detect signalling and permit selection of PSU for particular train

MOSlogiccircuitsareusedasdetectorsfortheautomatic signalling and safety control of miniature train movements as they are controlled from one control district to another. The detectors provide signals giving the train positions to the train selector circuits. These circuits select the traction current power supply to keep the same source for each train. The number of these circuits equals the number of trains in a particular control district. The traction power supply circuits provide a pulse waveform which enables a high starting torque to be delivered by the motors at a very low voltage. A potentiometer permits adjustment of train speed while the track is empty while another permits a slowing action when a yellow warning light is present. Other potentiometers provide for acceleration and deceleration of the train. All these potentiometers operate independently.
