The compounds of the formula II <IMAGE> in which R1 and R4 are each the acetyl or propionyl group, and R3 is the acetyl, propionyl, n-butyryl, isobutyryl or isovaleryl group, are obtained by partial and selective hydrolysis of the corresponding 2'- and optionally 18-alkanoyl compounds with an aqueous alkanol or aqueous ketone. The compounds can be used for the treatment of infections and do not have a bitter taste.
