The sleeve covers joints or divisions in electric power or telecommunications cabling. A sealing ring fits into shaped cups at each of the mating faces of the sleeve to provide complete moisture sealing, while bolted assembly permits quick assembly and disassembly. The same jointing configuration is applicable to end to end jointing of cables or, using two smaller joints, to division or forking of a cable. A cylindrical sleeve (9) has a ring (10) fixed around it, and has a flared end piece. This end piece fits into the larger dia. end piece (7) of the other half of the sleeve, which also has a ring (6) fixed to its exterior. Bolts (3) pass between the two rings and when the bolts are tightened the flexible sealing ring (8) is compressed between the two ends, providing a waterproof seal.
