System for controlling pumping operations e.g. those effected with a cementation pump or a pump for injecting mud into a borehole, consists of an appts. for determining the flow of the pump, and the pressure established by the pump. Specifically the system comprises a numerical treatment unit including appts. for acquisition of information provided by the flowmeter and the pressure gauge and appts. for providing output of numerical information and a graphic visualisation appts. for the results obtd. An immediate, precise picture of the conditions of hydraulic operation of the drilling plant is obtd. permitting optimisation of the progress of the operation.
