<p>The boundary marker is intended as an orientation facility during parking, manoeuvring with the vehicle etc. It consists of a gauging rod (11) mounted on the motor vehicle body (10) in a countersunk manner. The rod is of such dimensions and arrangement that the horizontal projection of its tip from the vehicle body, with the rod fully extended, coincides with the outermost boundary edge (14) of the motor vehicle, or slightly protrudes over the same. The tip of the fully retracted rod is flush with the car body surface. The gauging rod is resilient and may have a coil spring wound on a block. Its extension and retraction may be driven by an electric motor. The drive may consist of a winding arrangement for the resilient rod. The tip may accommodate a lamp or a light fitting with light dispersion cap.</p> |
