The fixture is intended for securing covering material (4) to the interior panels of a motor vehicle passenger or engine compartment. The material is cardboard or fibrous material impregnated with a bonding agent and pressed into shape, whilst the fixture comprises an integral base plate (1) attached to one surface of the material (4). This plate is provided with openings which have a converging wall contour (5) projecting into the material (4), thus securing it. The openings may be round, polygonal or slotted and may be pressed into the plate. Attachment may be effected by the press-forming operation on the material.
