The appliance has a first extraction unit, with a guide carriage, which moves on tracks and has a drawing head, to clamp the profiles to be extracted. A second extraction unit (6) is operated independently of the first unit (4). The guide carriage (12) of the second unit moves on its own rails (13) past the first unit. The drawing heads (5,7) of both units may be pivoted out of the drawing track (3) independent of each other. When the heads are in non-operative position, the centre of the track coincides with the centre of the head concerned.
