The arrangement is intended for securing a hardened bearing pivot (1) in an un-hardened metal plate (3) whose thickness is 0.75 to 1 times the pivot diameter. The end (5) of the pivot is provided with an annular groove (7) and is pressed (11) directly into a bore (9) in the plate whose diameter is smaller than the pivot diameter by an un-specified amount. The bore may be produced by pressing to form a nozzle-shaped opening with downwardly projecting wall. After driving-in the pivot pin, the nozzle may be press-formed around its end, pref. such that the material of the nozzle wall enters the groove.
