In a method of analysing chemical substances in liquid samples, blank reagent absorption values based on a quantity of light passed through air or water are measured beforehand at a multiplicity of photometer stations and stored in a memory. Sample absorption values are then measured at the respective photometer stations and the blank reagent absorption values are subtracted from the sample absorption values for the respective photometer stations, enabling the necessary variation in the absorption of the liquid sample to be calculated as a function of time on the basis of the corrected sample absorption values. Even if the linearity of the calibration curves does not agree exactly at the individual photometer stations, precise analysis results can nevertheless be obtained. |
