A protection cap for removably covering the valve fitted top end portion (10) of a cylinder or bottle (12) for LPG gas or a similar container having a screw threaded neck portion (8), from a central area of which a valve structure projects, the cap being a substantially cylindrical member and is made of a semi-resilient artificial material, since the lower end of the cap is constituted by a plurality of circumferentially spaced tongue portions (4) projecting downwardly from the cylindrical main portion of the cap and being provided with internal screw threadings (6) for engaging said screw threaded neck portion (8) of the gas bottle (12), said tongue portions (4) being longer than the axial length of the neck engaging screw threadings (6) of the cap, so as to form ventilation openings or slots (14) between said tongue portions (4). |
