Vehicle parameter indicator - gives clear easily read display using vertical row of lamps driven by window comparators

An indicator for a vehicle parameter varying according to a randomly changeable control parameter has a characteristic curve whose regions have associated lamps. The arrangement provides a partic. clear and easily read indication of the value and characteristics of the parameter. The lamps are arranged in a straight line so as to indicate the value of the parameter. The regions of lamps are immediately contiguous. The lamps can be placed vertically with those lamps indicating extreme parameter values only, or those plus the adjacent section of lamps, having a different colour from the rest. The lamps are driven by window comparators of different voltage ranges whose inputs are connected to the control parameter. The window comparators may take the form of an analogue-to-digital converter.
