When the bundle (98) of corrugated fiberboard cases (99) is fed on a conveyor (13), a light switch (25) detects it and stops the conveyor. In this case, the bundle collides with an inclined contact member (18) and thus stops. When the bundle is complete, only the upper corrugated fiberboard cases are displaced relatively slightly, but when the bundle is incomplete all the corrugated fiberboard cases are displaced relative to the top to allow the lower cases to make contact with the contact member, thereby eliminating a space therebetween. The presence or absence of the space is detected by a photodetector (27) via light from a light source, and it can discriminate the proper and improper bundles of cases. |
