PURPOSE:To obtain a high sensitivity panchromatic photosensitive material having the photosensitive wavelength region including all the visible spectra and the infrared range up to 1,200nm, by laminating a charge transfer layer and a charge generating layer containing a polymethylene dye on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A charge transfer layer and a charge generating layer containing a dye represented by the formulaIin which A, B, D, and E are phenyl; Y is a divalent residue needed to form a 6- or 5-membered ring; R is H or halogen; and X<-> is an anionic residue, are laminated on a conductive substrate. Said dye dispersed into a binder or said dye along may be used for the charge generating layer. It is also effective for the charge generating layer to form a thin dye film by vacuum vapor deposition, to coat a solution containing a dye, or to coat a dispersion obtained by pulverizing the dye in a solvent. Compounds such as formulae II and III, etc. are embodied as the dye represented by the formulaI. |
